For the third time within two months, bats found in Plano have tested positive for rabies.
The city said the third bat was picked up Thursday, Oct. 24, near 8100 Dallas Parkway.
On Sept. 11, a rabid bat was found in the 1700 block of Throwbridge Lane and another bat was found Sept. 18 in a family’s back yard within two miles of the other cases.
That family’s pet dog was quarantined for 10 days and returned when it did not develop symptoms of rabies, their veterinarian said.
