The Plano East volleyball team has put itself in position to make another run at the playoffs.

The Lady Panthers’ path to a second consecutive playoff appearance was aided by a 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-18) home win over Prosper Rock Hill on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

Defense was the story of this match as Plano East (21-7 overall, 4-1 District 6-6A) held Rock Hill to a .126 hitting percentage.

With the win, Plano East remained tied with Allen (19-9, 4-1) for second place, one game behind district leader Plano West (16-6, 6-0), one game clear of fourth-place Prosper (16-15, 3-2) and two games ahead of both McKinney (16-16, 2-3) and McKinney Boyd (10-11, 2-3).

Plano East is scheduled to return to the court at 6:30 p.m. Friday when the Lady Panthers will renew their cross-town rivalry with Plano (12-12, 2-4).
