McKinney has seen an increase in the number of flea-borne typhus cases reported to Collin County Health Care Services.
As of Monday, Aug. 12, “We currently have had five cases reported for 2024, all in McKinney,” said Daphne Lynch, an epidemiologist with the county. “Excluding 2024, there have only been four reported cases in the past 10 years,” she said.
