Sam Green of All Pest Solutions wades upstream in Maxwell Creek to spray pellets for killing mosquito larva after several mosquitos tested positive for the West Nile Virus.
Certified pest control applicators began mosquito abatement following the discovery of three mosquitos carrying the West Nile Virus in Murphy.
The city of Murphy and the Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed West Nile was confirmed in a mosquito trapped June 14 in the creek bed along Lonesome Dove Trail, northeast of the intersection of North Murphy Road and Betsy Lane.
A second infected insect was trapped there on June 21, along with a third found the same day in a pool along Shelby Trace, the city said.
