The Plano East softball program put on their annual youth camp last week. Despite weather occasionally being less than cooperative, the coaches and high school players were able to put on a thrilling camp full of learning, competition and entertainment across four days.
Coach Lauren Peterson and her staff welcomed campers from of all ages beneath the high school level. From young kindergarteners just getting to know the game to future freshman hoping to hone their skills, the camp saw plenty of opportunity for everyone to get their reps in.
With the younger players, Coach Peterson had several of her more experienced high school players take the lead in helping to teach them some of the basic fundamentals to fielding, throwing and catching the ball.
