While the future of Plano East softball was busy outside last week, Coach Derrick Richardson and his staff was getting his eyes on all the talent the Panthers will see on the hardwood in the coming years. The Plano East basketball program hosted their annual youth camp.
Both the boys and girls teams will host several camps for young athletes over the course of the next two months, with last week’s consisting of two different groups. The younger bunch consisted of boys and girls from grades 1-5, while the one involving junior high kids was just for future Lady Panthers.
Still, it took all three practice courts to put them through drills, as Coach Richardson and the rest of the staff got a great turnout.
“It was a really good camp,” Coach Richardson said. “The biggest one we’ve had since I’ve been at Plano East. Seeing those numbers and everyone having a good time, we are excited about the future of the Lady Panthers.”
