A loss of 178,000 gallons of water a day is blamed on a seven-eighth-inch hole in a copper supply line.
A small hole in a city water supply line can quickly lose enough water to fill a swimming pool many times over, Interim Public Works Director Daniel Paredez said.
By the end of April, work crews had repaired 26 leaks, Paredez reported to the Murphy City Council.
