The neighborhood around the North Murphy Road railroad crossing should soon be quiet again. The Murphy City Council has approved $46,611 for a new warning system for CPKC freight trains rolling through the city.
When service resumed March 3 after nearly two years of silence, the city learned its wayside horns had broken and the manufacturer had gone out of business.
