At 35-0, the Panthers have looked every bit like one of the nation’s top ranked teams to open the playoffs. PESH opened the postseason with lopsided wins over Rock Hill (88-51) and Highland Park (74-45) to advance to the regional bracket. Roosevelt Joubert/Murphy Monitor
The Plano East boys basketball team has punched their ticket to the regional bracket. The Panthers opened the postseason with a pair of big wins over Rock Hill and Highland Park, and will turn their attention to the Allen Eagles for their next matchup.
To this point, the Panthers have been fairly dominant in their postseason matchups. Against Allen, they will take on a squad that they’ve already seen this year. Plano East opened their season with an 80-70 victory over the Eagles, the first of 35 consecutive wins the Panthers have tallied headed into the rematch with Allen.
The Eagles defeated Hebron and Grand Prairie last week to advance to their matchup with PESH. The two teams will meet Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
