The Plano East Panthers won the Bi-District Championship on Monday, Feb. 19 with an 88-51 victory over Rock Hill. The win pushes Plano East to 34-0 as the advance to the area round. Roosevelt Joubert/Murphy Monitor
The top-ranked Plano East Panthers opend the playoffs much like they ended the regular season…in impressive fashion. While the defense carried PESH to a 34-15 lead by halftime, the Panthers’ offense exploded for 32 points in the third quarter to put the game well out of reach for Rock Hill.
Five different Panthers scored in double figures in the 88-51 blowout, as Plano East advanced to the second round of the postseason. Next up, PESH will travel to Coppell for an area matchup with Highland Park.
The two teams met up in mid-November with the Panthers winning 70-54 over the Scots. East has racked up 32 wins since that meeting, while Highland Park stands with a record of 26-9.
The game will tip off this Friday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m.
