Parks & Recreation is shopping for a new spring festival after the Murphy City Council agreed to cancel this year’s Tunes, Tails & Ales craft beer and crawfish event because of a nearly two-thirds increase in price.
Kayla McFarland, manager of recreation services, told the Feb. 6 council meeting that vendor SBG Hospitality had raised its bid for the spring event in Central Park from the $55,000 quoted last year to $90,000.
