Six weeks after Hamas attacked Israel, Sabiha Shariff appeared by herself before the Murphy City Council to request their support for a cease-fire in Gaza.
“The destruction and carnage has to stop,” she told the Nov. 21 meeting. “The bombing of civilians has to end for the sake of humanity. As Bishop Demond Tutu once said, ‘If you are neutral in a situation of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor’”
