No. 2 Plano East opened the District 6-6A schedule with a pair of wins, including surviving an early test in the regular season against the Marcus Marauders.
Opening the district season at home against Marcus on Tuesday, Dec. 11, the Panthers faced an unexpected challenge from the Marauders.
Despite East jumping out to an early 16-7 lead, Marcus continued to plug away and keep within striking distance. A late first-half 3-point field goal from Xavier Miller put the Panthers up 35-25, but the Marauders quickly went on a run early to open the second half.
