DUNCANVILLE – No. 3 Plano East added another tough test to its slate, passing again to improve to 9-0.
Traveling to Duncanville over the holiday weekend for the Thanksgiving Hoopfest, Plano East faced off against Springdale, from Arkansas. The Bulldogs were the Arkansas state runners-up last season, returning several talented players, including four-star recruit Isaiah Sealy.
The Panthers defense dominated the proceedings, shutting down the potent Bulldogs offense to win 54-35. Taking on one of the nation’s top teams, head coach Matt Wester said it was a good learning experience, even beyond the win.
“It was a really good test for us,” Wester said. “They’re a big team with a lot of experience. We’ve been concerned about how a really big team could handle us and how we’d have to guard post players with one of our guards.”
