The Plano East Lady Panthers (32-12) won a five-set nail-biter over Highland Park (32-12) in their area matchup on Thursday. After winning the opening two sets (25-22, 25-21), the Lady Scots battled back to take the next two (23-25, 21-25), forcing a pivotal fifth set.
Even in the final frame, the two teams went back and forth, but it would be PESH securing the hardware with an 18-16 victory. The girls will play the winner of Friday’s matchup with Arlington-Lamar and Prosper in the Regional Quarterfinals at the beginning of next week.
