WYLIE — Plano East’s first playoff game in 15 years took four sets, and the Lady Panthers made sure it wasn’t the end of the road.

The Lady Panthers outscored the Allen Lady Eagles 7-3 down the stretch, coming out victorious 3-1 (26-24, 25-21, 23-25, 25-22). Simone Heard and Lauryn Lambert closed out Allen late with some great attacking play, while Emma Reeves’ service was crucial in the team’s early-set success.

Plano East advances to the area round of the state playoffs, where they’ll face Highland Park (32-11) at Coppell High School this Thursday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.
