Plano East dominated on the way to a Plano city championship Friday night at Kimbrough Stadium.

Drew Devillier threw four first-half touchdowns to four different receivers as Plano East defeated Plano West 56-13.

The Panthers (5-3, 3-2 in 6-6A) jumped out to a 42-0 lead at halftime thanks to a prolific passing attack. Devillier connected on 17 of his 19 first-half pass attempts, totaling 213 yards. He ended the game with five passing touchdowns. His go-to target was Ezra O’Neal III, who hauled in 118 yards and two scores, including one in each half.

Plano West (1-7, 1-4 in 6-6A) got going in the third quarter with two long touchdown passes to Greyson Grant, but East quickly responded with Devillier’s fifth passing touchdown of the game. Devillier has 1,677 yards passing, with 19 touchdowns and three interceptions.

Late in the third quarter, with the backups in the game, Plano East quarterback Jackson Hays found Diego Herrera in the end zone for the game’s final score. The win pushed Plano East back into the playoff hunt, as they jumped Hebron (2-3 in 6-6A) and tied with Marcus for third in the playoff standings. In the event of a three-way tie with Hebron and Flower Mound (2-3) for the final playoff spot, Plano East will advance on a tiebreaker.

Plano East travels to Lewisville next Friday for their final road game of the regular season.
