Panthers second half too much for Flower Mound

Plano East scored 31 second-half points on the way to a dominant district win at Tom Kimbrough Stadium Friday night.

Drew Devillier tossed four touchdowns as Plano East’s big second half led to a 41-25 victory over Flower Mound.  Plano East (4-2, 2-1 in 6-6A) scored on its first four drives, starting as Devillier hit Ezra O’Neal III for a 56-yard score on the first drive to give his team a 17-10 advantage.

Following a Luke Allison interception and Justin Simmons field goal, Devillier to O’Neal III struck again a 50-yard score to take a 27-10 lead. O’Neal III finished the game with 125 total yards and two scores.

Flower Mound (2-4, 0-3 in 6-6A) pulled one back late in the third quarter, as quarterback Noah Erdman connected on his first score of the game. Peyton Stadler gave Flower Mound its only lead in the first half, as Flower Mound couldn’t keep the momentum in the second half.

Travis Agee scored Plano East’s last touchdown, rushing for 100 yards and scoring in the final quarter. Overall, the Panthers led in total yardage and took the ball away twice in the win.

Plano East travels to Coppell next Friday in its next district game.
