Halfway through district play, No. 20 ranked Plano East has its sights set on a district championship.
Following wins against Lewisville and Marcus – two of the lower teams in District 6-6A, the Lady Panthers (6-1, 24-10) end the first half of district play with six wins.
Even better news for Plano East, No. 23 Plano West defeated No. 3 Flower Mound, creating a three-way tie for the first spot in the district standings between the three giants. The three teams are well ahead of the competition for a playoff spot but will have seven games to determine who can be crowned district champions.
Plano East lost to Flower Mound and defeated Plano West in the first round of district games.
