The Murphy City Council has unanimously approved an average monthly increase of $6.47 or 7.31% for residential Atmos Energy service. The higher rate was negotiated by Atmos and the Atmos Cities Steering Committee (ACSC) representing Murphy and 181 other cities
Councilmembers, at their regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 19, also approved $168,000 for professional services in the city’s continuing fight against a wastewater treatment plant north of the Rolling Ridge subdivision.
