City Manager Mike Castro resigns

by | Aug 15, 2023 | Latest

The Murphy City Council has accepted the resignation of City Manager Mike Castro, effective Friday, Aug. 11.
No reason for his resignation was given and city officials declined comment at the Tuesday night meeting.
Following the approval of a transition agreement, council appointed Fire Chief Del Albright as acting city manager until an interim city manager is chosen.
In a written statement, Murphy Mayor Scott Bradley said, “We appreciate Dr. Castro’s seven years of service to the city and his oversight to ensure that Murphy remains a vibrant and welcoming community.”
The city’s official statement said council would discuss the search process at a future regular meeting.
