City’s first mosque site plan pending

The president of the Islamic Association of Murphy (IAM) is reworking the site plan for Murphy’s first mosque to comply with property standards for off-street parking.

“This mosque is the Number 1 priority for Muslim residents of Murphy,” said Syed Osman Hussain, who donated land for construction of the IAM Masjid (Arabic for mosque) on the northeast corner of North Murphy Road and McMillen Drive.
