Starting in October, all Murphy water bills will be issued on the same date and owed 30 days later. City Council agreed at their Tuesday, June 6, meeting to consolidate billing zones thanks to updated smart water meters. A communications plan will outline the changes affecting Zones 2 and 3 that will require residents to change auto pay settings. Bank draft payments will be made on the day bills are due.
In other business, Mayor Pro Tem Elizabeth Abraham was re-elected by council and Councilmember Ken Oltmann was named deputy mayor pro tem. They will serve, in order of succession, if Mayor Scott Bradley is not available.
