May 6 election results certified by council

The Murphy City Council has canvassed votes cast in the Saturday, May 6, election.

At their regular meeting Tuesday, May 16, councilmembers certified Laura Deel had been elected to Place 5 on council, Andrew Chase had been re-elected to Place 3 and Mayor Scott Bradley, who was not opposed, was re-elected with 1,048 votes cast. Voters also re-authorized using 0.25% of sales tax revenue for street and sidewalk maintenance and repair. Proposition A passed 951-277 of 1,228 votes cast, or 77.44% to 22.56%.
