About a dozen volunteers got an early start on Earth Day by helping to clean up the Timbers Nature Preserve Park in Murphy. Other residents disposed of unwanted drugs.
Wearing orange vests and work gloves, the park cleanup volunteers used grabber tools to pick up and bag a variety of trash including plastic bags, cigarette butts and candy wrappers.
