Murphy Mayor Scott Bradley said the city was pleased an administrative law judge had recommended denial of a permit for a wastewater treatment plant between Parker and Murphy.
Bradley commented after an executive session at city council’s Tuesday, May 2, meeting. The mayor added the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality was not required to accept the judge’s recommendation. The plant, serving 660 single-family homes to be built on 100 acres, would discharge up to 200,000 gallons of treated wastewater into Maxwell Creek each day. No date had been set for the commission to consider the recommendation.
In other business, council approved spending $45,000 for a “Bites & Flights on The Corridor” event to be held Saturday, Nov. 4.
