Plano East competed at the districts 5 and 6-A area championship on Friday, April 21.
The boys got fifth with 51 points and the girls finished in 14th, with several regional qualifiers. Jaylon Hatcher finished in second in the boys 200-meter dash (22.02), one of his four events he finished top four in to qualify.
Plano East’s boys 4×100-meter relay team finished right outside the podium in fourth place (41.66). The Panthers got second in the boys 4×200-meter relay (1:26.89) and eighth in the boys 4×400-meter relay (4:29.61).
Tristan Martin got fourth in the boys high jump (6’02’’) with Hatcher getting the bronze in the boys long jump (23’05’’).
Ezra O’Neal III continued Plano East’s good performance on the field side with a third-place placement in the boys triple jump (44’07.75’’). Jeremiah Gordon placed sixth in the boys shot put (48’06’’).
Janiya Richardson won the bronze in the girls 200-meter dash (25.18). Lesliunna Colbert got seventh in the girls 400-meter dash (58.31).
