The Panthers competed in the District 6-6A championships last Thursday, with several Plano East athletes qualifying for regionals.
As a team, the Plano East boys finished in fourth with 76 points while the girls got seventh with 35 points. Coppell won the boys meet with 142 points, while Flower Mound won the girls meet with 182 points.
Plano East’s Jaylon Hatcher finished in third in the boys 200-meter dash (22.41).
The Panthers won the gold in the boys 4×100-meter relay (41.24). They also got second in the boys 4×200-meter relay (1:27.90) and fourth in the boys 4×400-meter relay (3:28.88).
Tristan Martin got fourth in the boys high jump for Plano East (6’0’’). Aiden Diep also got fourth in the boys long jump (19’3’’). Ezra O’Neal III finished with the bronze in the boys triple jump (45’5.50’’). Jeremiah Gordon got fourth as well in the boys shot put (48’6.75’’).
In the girls 200-meter dash, Janiya Richardson won the silver (24.98). Lesliunna Colbert also won the silver in the girls 400-meter dash (58.09).
The Plano East girls got second in the girls 4×100-meter relay (47.06).
