A silver-gray Honda SUV loaded with junk pulled into the City Hall parking lot and a volunteer from the Community Emergency Response Team took a quick look inside. He waved the driver over to the first station of the Spring Clean & Green event held Saturday, April 8.
The driver popped the hatchback to reveal a mattress, large screen TV, bottles of hazardous household waste and several boxes of computer parts. Like an army of ants, workers quickly pulled out the electronics and stacked the trash on pallets for loading onto disposal trucks.
