The Murphy City Council has agreed to spend $5,500 to help train fire and police personnel how to cope with emergency situations such as an active shooter. Members approved the addition to the Fire Department emergency management budget at their regular meeting Tuesday, Feb. 7.
Eudoros, Inc., an outside vendor in Aurora, Colorado, was to prepare tabletop exercises covering a variety of simulated scenarios in accordance with standards set in the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program.
