Council, PISD, Collin College trustee filing dates open

The filing period for May 2023 Murphy City Council and Plano ISD board of trustees’ elections opened Wednesday, Jan. 18, and continues through Feb. 17.

Council and school board trustees will officially set the elections in their upcoming meetings for Saturday, May 6.

Terms expiring on Murphy City Council are Mayor, held by Scott Bradley; Place 3, held by Andrew Chase and Place 5, held by Sarah Fincanon.

Candidate packets are available in the Murphy City Secretary’s office at 206 N. Murphy Road for anyone who intends to seek election. The election is for three-year terms.

Terms expiring for Plano Independent School District board of trustees are Place 4, held by Dr. Heather Wang; Place 5, held by board president David Stolle and Place 7, held by Cody Weaver.
