Plano East season closes with road loss to Marcus

by | Nov 3, 2022 | Latest, Sports

Plano East (0-7, 3-7) wraps up their 2022 season winless in district play, losing to Flower Mound Marcus (5-2, 6-4) 50-7 on an unusual Thursday night at Marauders Stadium in Flower Mound.

The Panthers again struggled with their passing game as the playoff-bound Marauders scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to put it away.

The Panthers had quite a game on offense but could not put the points to draw closer to Marcus. Wide receiver Rushil Patel finishes his final game with seven completions for 143 yards and a touchdown. East quarterback Drew Devillier finished the game with 15 completions for 220 yards, a touchdown and four interceptions.

Marcus quarterback Cole Welliver completed 14 of 17 pass attempts for 231 yards and three touchdowns. Plano East finished with 110 rushing yards and 220 passing yards. Marcus finished with 231 passing yards and 94 rushing yards.
