Council passed several resolutions and amended the budget for a public works project during the Tuesday, June 21, regular council meeting.
A resolution passed authorizing City Manager Mike Castro to enter an interlocal agreement with the city of Wylie for improvements at the intersection of McCreary Road and FM 544.
Improvements include traffic signals, pedestrian signals, flashing yellow arrow signals, raised medians and expanding the road to have a left turn lane, two through lanes and a right turn lane.
Council also passed a budget amendment associated with the interlocal agreement for $58,950. The total cost of the project is $842,034.
In other business, council authorized Castro to execute a two-year contract renewal agreement. The agreement would extend services to June 30, 2024, with an option for a one- or two-year renewal.
The firm’s fee is 0.6% of the portfolio average value and is projected to be $27,000 for Fiscal Year 2022 and Fiscal Year 2023.
