It’s budget season and the Murphy City Council recently held a workshop meeting with staff to discuss key assumptions concerning the upcoming fiscal year.
During the meeting held Tuesday, May 24, city manager Mike Castro presented an overview of the budget to council.
As of March 31, Castro said the six-month revenue is 85%, with ad valorem taxes at 98% and sales tax at 63%. Castro noted these numbers are within one or two percentage points of last year.
