The Plano ISD Board of Trustees discussed mental health and received a financial service update during the Tuesday, May 3 meeting.
Linzy Evans, a social worker at Sigler Elementary, updated the board on student, family and community services. Evans said that previously, social workers were only available in a few of the schools, but the district has switched to a model that serves all 72 PISD campuses.
Evans covered the school social worker assignments and roles for the district. Assignments are broken into clusters — east, central and west — and based on feeder patterns, said Evans, the central cluster team leader.
In previous years, social workers were assigned and housed at one campus.
