East advances to championship

by | Mar 3, 2022 | Latest, Sports

Plano East battled back from an early deficit with a 3-2 overtime win over Allen Tuesday night.

The victory puts Plano East through to the City Championship, where they’ll take on Denton County Thursday night at the Plano Starcenter.

The Panthers fell behind early, but goals from Cale Morrow and Jud Criss gave them a lead midway through the third period. The Eagles answered with 1:34 remaining in the game to force overtime, but Criss again came up big for East. The Captain received the pass from Aaron Keith and sent the Panthers through to the City Championship game.

Micah Laird came up big for the Panthers, making 31 saves in the game and keeping the Eagles at bay despite 28 shots on goal in the first two periods.
