Murphy City Council discussed a possible logo for a commercial district along FM 544 from Dublin Road to McCreary Road and approved two budget amendments during the March 1 regular council meeting.
The commercial district, which has since been branded as The Corridor was first discussed during the Nov. 16, 2021 council meeting.
Arlo Eisenberg of Eisenberg and Associates presented three options for a logo and council was initially split between two designs, one being four Cs arranged to resemble a flower and the other being The Corridor with white space running through the words to resemble a road.
Eisenberg said he can return at the March 15 meeting with banners and other items with the designs printed on them so they can have a better idea of how the logo will look, to which council agreed.
Council also approved two budget amendments, the first for $25,000 to pay for costs associated with the interlocal agreement with the city of Wylie for use of its jail and the second for $1,250 for a table sponsorship at the upcoming Murphy Veterans Tribute Gala, which will be held March 25.
