Election filing closed

The filing period for Murphy city elections has closed.

There will be four city council places on the ballot, Place 1, Place 2, Place 4 and Place 6.

The last day to register to vote in the May 7 election is Thursday, April 7 and the last day to apply for a ballot by mail is Tuesday, April 26.

Early voting will be held Monday, April 25 through Saturday, April 30, Monday, May 2 and Tuesday, May 3.

Early voting hours and locations have yet to be determined but residents can cast their ballot at any location in the county in which they are registered to vote.

Collin County residents can check their status at collincountytx.gov/elections.
