by | Feb 18, 2022 | Latest, Sports

Plano East did not slow down on its way to the regional quarterfinals.

The Lady Panthers (13-1, 25-4) clinched the area championship with a dominating 78-49 win over the Richardson Eagles. Plano East jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first and led 40-9 at halftime. With their starters sharing the ball well in the first half, Idara Udo scored all 11 of her points in the first half.

Plano East kept things rolling early in the third quarter, leading by as many as 40 when Donavia Hall’s layup led to an early timeout. The basket was her 1,000th career point with the Lady Panthers as she led all scorers with 13 points. All 12 East players scored in the game, as reserves played the majority of the third and fourth quarters.

Plano East advances to face No. 8 Braswell at a date to be determined. The Lady Bengals are 33-2 on the season.
