A longtime residential assisted living facility will not be able to make accommodations for two more residents for the time being, says Murphy City Council.
Despite having a recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission, council denied a special use permit for a Murphy assisted living facility.
Murphy City Council held two public hearings and passed a resolution calling the May city election in the Tuesday, Feb. 1 council meeting.
Council held a public hearing concerning a special use permit (SUP) to allow an assisted living facility to increase the number of residents from six to eight.
The Murphy Planning and Zoning Commission previously considered the item and voted to recommend council approve the SUP.
