Hurry up and wait.
The old military adage is often used to describe a situation where an individual must complete a task by a specific time, only for nothing to happen at that time.
This is the situation in which many Murphy residents who spoke against a proposed wastewater plant find themselves.
The plant in question is near the North Murphy Road and Rolling Ridge Drive intersection in Parker and Murphy’s extraterritorial jurisdictions (ETJ) and part of a planned development.
Residents opposed to the plant had the opportunity to speak out against it at a Dec. 6, 2021, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) meeting.
But now that they voiced their opposition, many are sitting in limbo, waiting for a response.
