Murphy City Council held several public hearings, authorized an agreement with the Texas Council of Governments for aerial photography services and extended the mayor’s Declaration of Local Disaster ordinance in the Nov. 16 regular meeting.
The first public hearing was an amendment for a planned development totaling 17.75 acres, located southwest of McCreary Road and FM 544, first approved in 2020.
The developer, Mohammad Qasim of Madewell Companies asked council to include an additional six acres in the amendment, a majority of which is in the flood plain and would remain untouched. The amendment would increase the development from 53 homes to 100 homes.
