Injuries pile up in Plano East loss

by | Oct 23, 2021 | Latest, Sports

Without star running back Ismail Mahdi and starting quarterback Drew DeVillier, the offense struggled for Plano East.

Plano East (1-4, 2-6) struggled to get consistent yards against Plano (1-4, 2-6), losing 28-14. Mahdi, one of the top runners in all of 6A, led the team with 1,352 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns this season, finished with just three yards and five carries.
East managed to cut the lead to 13-7, but Plano managed a 75-yard touchdown drive to go up 21-7 before the break. The Panthers managed just 248 total yards in the game.

Plano East will travel to Coppell next Friday.
