The Plano East Panthers have a new mindset this season and the offense is ready to get on the field and get started.
With a new quarterback and new offensive scheme, East will have a new look for 2021. That’s refreshing for a team that struggled last season, with some of the returning players eager to prove themselves.
One of those players is Ismail Mahdi, who was the top runner and receiver for the Panthers last season. The first-team all-district running back has seen an improved offense this offseason and is hoping to see the results on the field.
“I want to get a win this season,” Mahdi said. “Individually, I think about getting the numbers: 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns, but it comes down to win. I haven’t had one yet on varsity and I just want to win so bad.”
