Murphy police offer public place for transactions

Murphy police now provide a place for people to meet in safe to do businesses transactions — the police department parking lot.

As more retail transactions take place online with many of the exchanges occurring in per­son, the Murphy Police Depart­ment has established a location designated as a safe exchange spot. The site is located in the parking lot of the Police Depart­ment, 206 North Murphy Road, behind Murphy’s City Hall, ac­cording to the police department.

The technology for the new spot was included as part of the 2017 Capital Improvement Projects bond program.
