Tight ends have become one of the most important positions in football over the last decade.
The versatility of great tight ends allows them to block, catch and make a major impact on every play. Head coach Joey McCullough has been excited about his team this offseason, starting with the use of more tight ends in his rotation.
“I think it helps us be more multiple,” McCullough said. “It helps us put in more maximum protection sets around a young quarterback in Drew Devillier, but two and three tight end sets similar to the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs at the NFL level. Our ace formation forces safeties to come into the box and creates space for others. All of the guys can catch and it also helps us run the football better.”
