Murphy City Council held a regular meeting on election night to discuss a number of items including a public hearing concerning a zoning change.
Jared Mayfield, director of community and economic development, said the amendment to the planned development is due to the fact that Walgreens, located at 103 W. FM 544 is relocating, and the current planned development no longer fits the vision for the area.
The list of permitted uses for the lot has been reduced from 60 possible permitted uses to 27. The goal is to target uses that will generate sales tax revenue.
