There’s no doubt that the United States is a land of opportunity, especially for refugees coming from a place where equal opportunities are limited.
Singer, songwriter Rehema Ilundu, a 2019 graduate of Plano East Senior High, was only five years old when she moved to the U.S. with her pregnant mom, dad, three sisters and brother from Central Africa in 2005.
One of the reasons their family came to America, says Rehema, was because of the limited opportunities available to women in Congo.
