Collin County judge plans to file necessary paperwork
Governor Greg Abbott signed an executive order further opening Texas businesses including bars and river tubing operations which have been shuttered since June.
In a video posted on social media Wednesday, Oct. 7, Abbott announced bars can open at 50% capacity but must follow the same social distancing and table seating guidelines as restaurants. Abbott said if bar reopening goes smoothly, they continue reopening as restaurants have. This is the second attempt at reopening bars. The first was in May but bars were forced to close again after COVID-19 cases spiked.
“Until now, only two types of business have not been open,” Abbott said. “One is river tubing operations and the other is bars. It is time to open them up.”
