Clean and Green returns to Murphy this Saturday, Oct. 10, giving residents the opportunity to get rid of unwanted and recyclable items.
The free event is from 9 a.m. until noon on the Murphy City Hall driveway, 206 N. Murphy Rd.
Because of health safety concerns, residents will be required to remain in their vehicles as city staff unloads items. It is recommended that vehicles be loaded using the “first in, last out” method by loading household hazardous waste first, followed by documents for shredding, electronics and household items.
Household hazardous waste included wet paint, solvents, acids, strong cleaners, paint thinners, fertilizers, floor stripping liquids, week killing chemicals and similar toxic or dangerous chemicals.
Electronics include light bulbs, batteries and electronic recycling such as old printers, computers, televisions, monitors and similar items.
Residents are required to provide proof of residence such as a driver’s license or utility bill.
